"Hi, this is Artie. Going through the logistics program at Ingram State was pivotal in shaping my future after incarceration. I met Mr. Holloway and the incredible, supportive staff who guided me through the program. I didn’t just learn about warehousing—I discovered how logistics connects everything we do.
Because of my hard work, I was honored as an All-Alabama Academic Team recipient, earning a $1,000 scholarship to use at any Alabama community college. After my release, I used that scholarship at Bishop State Community College in Mobile, where I earned my CDL. Now, I’m proud to be a certified truck driver in Dauphin Island, Alabama!

Celebrating the journey of Tyler, a Fall 2022 graduate of Ingram State Technical College, who embodies the power of second chances and the impact of education. After completing welding and the GED program, Tyler's hard work earned recognition as a GED tutor and accomplishments like Dean’s List honors, OSHA-10 certification, and Forklift certification.
Tyler’s journey didn't stop there. After working as an Attendant, a promotion to Supervisor followed, where Tyler now oversees multiple locations and manages day-to-day operations.
Tyler’s words about the program: “Ingram taught me how to get up and do the right thing every single day. It’s so much easier to do the right thing than the wrong thing. Ingram focuses on your future, not your past.”
Tyler’s story is a powerful reminder that with the right support, it’s possible to rise above challenges and make a difference. Recently, Tyler returned the favor by hiring a Mobile DRC participant, proving that second chances can make an incredible impact.

💡 From Incarceration to Success in Electrical Technology: Adam Skipper’s Inspiring Journey 💡
Meet Adam, a graduate of the Electrical Technology program at J.F. Ingram State Technical College. Adam credits his transformation to the skills, knowledge, and support he received during his time at Ingram State, with special thanks to his instructor, Mr. Quincy Banks.
Before his incarceration, Adam had started the Electrical Technology program at Fortis College. Once he learned about the similar program at Ingram State, he knew it was the perfect opportunity to continue his education. After completing the program, Adam gained invaluable skills, including learning about Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Motor Controls, which he now applies daily in his career.
Today, Adam is an Electrician in Bessemer, Alabama, and is working toward his Journeyman license. He credits the program not only for the technical knowledge but also for helping him maintain a positive mindset even in challenging times.
“I walked across the stage to receive my certificate, and that was a moment of immense pride for me,” Adam reflects. His advice to current and future students? “Stay focused and consistent. It may look overwhelming, but everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.”
Adam’s journey is proof that with determination, education, and the right support, it’s possible to overcome challenges and achieve great success. 🌟

Stone completed the HVAC program at Main Campus in Summer 2023, under the guidance of Mr. Lee Patterson, and has since turned his life and career around. After graduating, he quickly secured a role as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Russellville, Alabama, where he puts his HVAC and electrical expertise to use every day.
Stone’s impressive qualifications include multiple certifications such as OSHA-10, EPA, Forklift Operator, and NCCER, all of which have opened doors for him. He credits ISTC for providing him with the tools and resources to succeed, saying the program was “a bright light in one of my darkest moments.”
Stone’s story is proof that education and determination can lead to meaningful career opportunities, and he is proud to build a brighter future for his family. 💪🌟

Meet Randy. Released in December 2024, Randy secured full-time employment as a Diesel Technician at Pinky’s Automotive in Ozark, Alabama. He is a graduate of the Diesel Mechanic program at the Draper Instructional Service Center, where he continued to contribute as a student aide following his graduation.
