The Ingram State Technical College Foundation welcomed old friends and new acquaintances to the sixth annual golf tournament Monday, October 10. Twenty-one teams of golfers and 22 sponsors raised over $26,000 for the foundation, which uses the funds to assist Ingram State graduates preparing to enter the workforce.
First place honors for the day went to the team of Jon Bargainer, Chris Blankenship, Jess Skaggs and Ed Poolos of team Bargainer; followed by the River Bank team in second with Wishbone team rounding out the top three.
Returning sponsor Vision Security Technologies/Genetec was joined by tournament newcomers Promising People as Ace event sponsors. Other sponsors included River Bank and Trust, Alabama Trucking Association, Four Star Freightliner, HOAR Project Management, Ready Mix USA, Stifel, Stewart/Perry Construction, GMC, Reinhardt Lexus, Alabama Office Supply, The Jones Group LLC, Dr. Mary Bell, Superintendent of State Banking Mike Hill, Austin Shelton, Costco, Garner Electric, John Lee Paint, Servis 1st Bank, Whataburger, Duncan Donuts, Blue Ridge Mountain Water, Lawn Kare Specialists, Your Golf Superstore, Hamilton Signs, Lentz Educational, and TJ Maxx.
ISTC president Annette Funderburk thanked the golfers and sponsors for their commitment to Ingram students. “Our graduates encounter significant barriers after they are released, and the resources available to them through the foundation help ensure their successful transition to career and community.”
