Electrical Technology Program Overview
The Electrical Technology (ELT) program is a comprehensive 42-semester hour curriculum that blends classroom instruction with practical laboratory experience. To earn a certificate of completion, students must complete four academic courses totaling 12 semester hours, along with all mandatory career technical courses. The program also offers stackable short-term certificates and industry-recognized certifications, empowering students to build expertise step-by-step.

Electrical technicians play a crucial role in installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial power wiring, AC/DC motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels. As per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median average wage for electrical technicians was $61,590 as of May 2023. Job growth in this field is expected to mirror the average growth rate of other occupations. With the increasing demand for electrical wiring in homes and businesses, the need for skilled electrical technicians is anticipated to rise.
