Cosmetology Graduates

In a historic achievement for J.F. Ingram State Technical College, Lacie and Valerie have become the first cosmetology students to pass the Alabama State Cosmetology Board exam and earn their certified cosmetologist licenses. This remarkable accomplishment marks a significant milestone in the college's mission to equip its students with the skills necessary for a successful transition into society post-incarceration.

 A Collaborative Effort

The journey to this success was not without its challenges. It required years of dialogue and collaboration between J.F. Ingram State Technical College and the Alabama State Board of Cosmetology. This partnership was crucial in paving the way for graduates to take the state licensing exam while still enrolled, thereby streamlining their path to sustainable employment upon release.

 Empowering Opportunities

Lacie and Valerie's success serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity for future cosmetology students at the college. By obtaining their state credentials, these graduates can now look forward to reintegrating into society with the confidence and qualifications needed to secure employment in the cosmetology industry.

A New Chapter for ISTC

This breakthrough is a testament to the power of education and cooperation in transforming lives. The ability for students to earn their certification prior to release not only enhances their employability but also underscores the college's commitment to providing comprehensive support to its students.

Looking Forward

J.F. Ingram State Technical College is proud to celebrate the achievements of Lacie and Valerie, and looks forward to seeing many more students follow in their footsteps. This success story is just the beginning of a new chapter, offering hope and a clear path to a brighter future for all cosmetology students at ISTC.
