Carpentry
The Carpentry (CAR) program is a comprehensive 48-semester-hour course that blends theoretical classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experience in a lab setting. To earn a certificate of completion, students must complete four academic courses totaling 12 semester hours, alongside all required career technical courses. The program also offers the opportunity to earn stackable short-term certificates and industry-recognized certifications. It is tailored to equip students with the essential knowledge, skills, and competencies for successful entry-level employment in the carpentry industry.

Carpenters are skilled professionals who construct, repair, and install building frameworks and structures using wood and other materials. As of 2023, the median annual wage for carpenters was $56,350*. The employment of carpenters is expected to grow by 4 percent from 2023 to 2033, aligning with the average growth rate for all occupations.
