Ingram State Celebrates 15 PrEP Graduates

On Tuesday, J.F. Ingram State Technical College celebrated 15 women who completed the Prison Entrepreneur Program (PrEP) from Montgomery Women’s Facility.

PrEP is an eight-week academic program that provides students the foundational skills to start a small business.  Students learn and understand a financial model that lays out the requirements needed to start and maintain a business. By the second week, students are introduced to the elements that are required to create a basic business plan.

To assist overcoming barriers justice-involved citizens face in the workforce, Ingram State initiated PrEP in 2021. PrEP provides another avenue into the workforce that can be more conducive compared to traditional employment.
