The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) has provided J. F. Ingram State Technical College with a variety of personal protective equipment and supplies to help ensure safe learning environments for students and teachers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brian Forster, ADECA Law Enforcement Programs Supervisor, said the supplies were available through a Department of Justice grant designed to assist law enforcement-related agencies throughout the state. \u201cThe grant addresses safety needs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d said Forster. \u201cIngram was a natural choice to participate in this program based on the work they do with incarcerated individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
J. F. Ingram State Technical College served incarcerated students exclusively, providing career technical training and adult education at seven locations across Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ADECA supplies included face masks and disposable gloves as well as equipment to sanitize classrooms and labs. \u201cEnsuring the safety of our students and employees is our first priority,\u201d said ISTC president Annette Funderburk. \u201cThis generous donation from our ADECA partners will allow us to do that even more effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
